Welcome MAMSI Health Care Professionals

Our health plans will accept HIPAA non-compliant electronic transactions after October 16, 2003

MAMSI Health Plans has prepared for implementation of the HIPAA electronic transactions and code set standards by installing translator software and testing the acceptance of HIPAA compliant in-bound and out-bound health care transactions with electronic claims clearinghouses, health care practitioners and facilities (our "EDI partners"). Moreover, we have validated our readiness through testing with a HIPAA certification service.

While we are confident that our electronic claims processing system will be able to accept HIPAA compliant in-bound and out-bound transactions as of October 16, 2003, some of our EDI partners may need additional time to comply with these very complex regulations. Consequently, as long as our EDI partner demonstrates a good faith effort to come into HIPAA compliance, our health plans will accept non-HIPAA compliant electronic claims after October 16, 2003. If an EDI partner needs additional time, the EDI partner will need to give us sufficient assurance that in-bound and out-bound transactions will be HIPAA-compliant within a reasonable period of time.
Because our health plans will accept non-HIPAA compliant claims for a transitional period of time, no changes will be made to our claims processing business practices.

HIPAA EDI GUIDE

Our HIPAA EDI Guide provides important information about HIPAA transactions and code sets for our health plans. This guide is technical in nature and is intended for use by electronic claims clearinghouses, as well as health care practitioners and facilities who submit electronic claims directly to our health plans. Please click here to view and print the Guide.
