MAMSI Appoints Susan Sullivan-Waugaman to Vice President of Large Group Sales

Rockville, Md. -- Mid Atlantic Medical Services, Inc. (MAMSI), one of the largest managed care companies in the mid-Atlantic region, today announced the appointment of Susan Sullivan-Waugaman to Vice President of Large Group Sales.

In her new post, Ms. Sullivan-Waugaman's responsibilities include new sales development and account management for employer groups of 100 or more employees in Washington D.C., Maryland, West Virginia and Delaware. Products include the company's health plans MD-Individual Practice Association, Inc.; Optimum Choice, Inc.®; MAMSI Life and Health Insurance Company; Alliance PPO, LLC/MAPSI; and ancillary products such as life insurance and dental coverage.

Prior to joining MAMSI, she was employed by Aetna USHealthcare (who purchased NYLCare Health Plans), in various posts in sales, service and management, since 1985. Most recently she was NYLCare's Director of Sales, New Business Development.

Ms. Sullivan-Waugaman is currently First Vice President of the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters (MAHU). In May, she was named MAHU's Person of the Year. She earned the following health care industry designations: Health Insurance Association of America's Managed Health Care Professional (MHP); Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) from the American College; and the Professional designation, (PAHM), from the Academy of Health Care Management. In addition, she recently completed two terms as President of the Greater Washington Association of Health Underwriters.
